3 Year Anniversary LO

I am so excited to share this LO! The is a double page LO, and on the left side of the LO is from my hubby!! He made this for me! On our 3 year anniversary I came home from work and had a present (with my Create a Critter cartridge in it!) and a scrapbook page that my hubby had made. It has the first picture we had ever taken together... we were so young then! :) He told me I had too many tools and was a bit intimidated in my craft room.... but he did a great job still!

I made the right side of the page and tried to have it flow as well as possible.


The arrow below is from Graphically Speaking. It has three circle in it as it is, I used my Gypsy and the hide contour feature to hide the circles and replaced them with hearts.


"3 year" is from Mini Monograms and "anniversary" is from Sweethearts. The cut from Sweethearts actually says "Happy Anniversary" originally... but I used the hide contour feature to hide the "happy" and just use "anniversary". I love the hide contour feature!

The heart border I made using my Gypsy using George and Basic Shapes. I welded the hearts together. I re-cut the skinny hearts in brown and pop-dotted them to the border to give it a pop of color and dimension. I'm really happy with the way this LO turned out!

Cinnamon Roll LO

I really enjoyed making this layout. For Christmas this year my dad made the most WONDERFUL cinnamon rolls in the world!!! It may seem silly to make a LO based on cinnamon rolls... but they are a new (and forced) family tradition. My dad is a fireman and one of his fire buddies gave him a recipe for these cinnamon rolls and he tried them out for us. Once we all took a bite - we demanded them as a family tradition. They are quite labor intensive so I wanted to make sure I scrapbooked them to document their goodness. =)

I don't have a close-up of the letters, but I cut them from chipboard and covered them in paper. On top of the paper I covered them in alternating colors of Studio G glitter that I got from Michael's in the $1 bin.




I got the drippy goo from a Cricut messageboard member who kindly shared her file. I'm sorry I cant give the credit to the exact person because I can't find it right now. But if you'd like to have the .cut file I can share. She sent me a short and long drippy goo file.

I used the drippy goo cut to mimick the glaze on the cinnamon rolls. I thought about covering them with accent essentials to give it a glaze, but that would be an awful lot of accent essentials.


For the cinnamon roll border I used George and Basic Shapes to weld together circles to make a 12" border. I inked the edges of the border with a dark brown color box ink pad to make it look like the burnt or darkened part of a cinnamon roll.

Inside the circles I cut this little swirl from Sweet Treats with white cardstock. I placed them in alternating patterns. I covered the white part of the glaze with accent essentials to give it a more realistic look.

Believe Word Book

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to share a word book and how-to video with you. This word book was a present for a friend to give to a family member for Christmas. I didn't have time to get this video loaded before Christmas, but I hope the video will still show you my basic steps on designing and cutting a basic word book. I used Design Studio, but I'm pretty sure the same steps can be done on a Gypsy if that is what you have.





Sorry that the video is kind of long in length. I am still working on my videoing skills with my new Flip! Plus there were a lot of steps in making this book so that makes it pretty lengthy as well.

I must say that my inspiration for making word books in general came from The Bug Junkie! She is an amazing crafter! Her Halloween Swap Shape Book video tutorials were what got me started with word and shape books!

Pumpkin Carving - LO

Hello everyone! Just thought I would share with you a layout I did this evening. I am ALWAYS behind in my scrapbooking - so I'm just getting around to October '09. BUT! Since October is around the corner I thought this LO would be appropriate to post!

Here are more detailed photos, and I will try to explain the type of materials and sizes used.


I decided to go with an 'oldie but a goodie' with the font on this LO. I used George and Basic Shapes. "PUMPKIN" is cut at 1/2" and "CARVING" is at 1".


The spider is my personal fav! He is from Doodlecharms and is cut at 3/4. I cut him out on black out and just used a white gel pen for his eyes.


The spider web punch is a Martha Stewart punch. I had to do some research on how to use the punch-around-the-page MS punches. I didnt realize you had to use specific sizes... but now I do! I plan on adding a post that will explain how to use the MS punches and the sizes required for them. I will give you a link on this post when I do.
This black card stock is cut and punched with the spider web at 6 3/4 x 5. My purple journaling box is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.

The tree and fence were put together in Design Studio. They are both from Paper Doll Dress Up. You can use my .cut file if you'd like; I have it on the top left hand side of my blog for easy access. You may also access it here.

The pumpkin embellishments are by Paper Bliss, I purchased them at my local Hobby Lobby.

Student Birthday Display

Here is a display I have in my classroom of my students birthdays.
The banner is from my local Dollar Tree - they have some GREAT things for the classroom.... sometimes its worth the hunt!

When I saw this birthday banner I knew I could use it in my classroom and add to it with the use of my Cricut! The balloons are from George and Basic Shapes @ 5 1/2 inches.
