Pumpkin Carving - LO

Hello everyone! Just thought I would share with you a layout I did this evening. I am ALWAYS behind in my scrapbooking - so I'm just getting around to October '09. BUT! Since October is around the corner I thought this LO would be appropriate to post!

Here are more detailed photos, and I will try to explain the type of materials and sizes used.

I decided to go with an 'oldie but a goodie' with the font on this LO. I used George and Basic Shapes. "PUMPKIN" is cut at 1/2" and "CARVING" is at 1".

The spider is my personal fav! He is from Doodlecharms and is cut at 3/4. I cut him out on black out and just used a white gel pen for his eyes.

The spider web punch is a Martha Stewart punch. I had to do some research on how to use the punch-around-the-page MS punches. I didnt realize you had to use specific sizes... but now I do! I plan on adding a post that will explain how to use the MS punches and the sizes required for them. I will give you a link on this post when I do.
This black card stock is cut and punched with the spider web at 6 3/4 x 5. My purple journaling box is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.

The tree and fence were put together in Design Studio. They are both from Paper Doll Dress Up. You can use my .cut file if you'd like; I have it on the top left hand side of my blog for easy access. You may also access it here.

The pumpkin embellishments are by Paper Bliss, I purchased them at my local Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for looking!

Happy crafting!

Student Birthday Display

Here is a display I have in my classroom of my students birthdays.
The banner is from my local Dollar Tree - they have some GREAT things for the classroom.... sometimes its worth the hunt!

When I saw this birthday banner I knew I could use it in my classroom and add to it with the use of my Cricut! The balloons are from George and Basic Shapes @ 5 1/2 inches.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Photo Frame - Baby Gift

A friend of mine at work just celebrated the birth of her first grandchild and this is what I made for him. His nursery is Winnie the Pooh so I made a photo frame to match the decor!

I got the frame at my local HL 50% off. This is an 8x10 frame- I made a blue mat for a 4x6 photo. The blue piece of paper is cut at 4 1/4 x 6 1/4.

The name is cut from the Robotz cartridge @ 1 1/2.

Just a super easy and simple way to dress up a personal photo frame for a friend!

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

You Rock - Simple Card

Hey there! I just wanted to share a quick card with you I made this past weekend. This card is for my little brother who has a love for music! (I really wanted to do a drum-set but there aren't any great Cricut drum-sets that I could find. )
The card itself is actually a 5x7 card, the paper came from a paper pack my SIL found at Big Lots, and the guitar and "You Rock" are both from Stamping Solutions. I just added "manly bling" with some pewter brads.

Thanks for looking, and as always, Happy Crafting!

My hubby scrapbooked for me!!!!

For our three year anniversary my hubby surprised me and made me a scrapbook page! The picture he used to scrapbook is the first picture we ever took together nearly 8 years ago. It meant so much to me that he did this! I laughed when he told me that I have too many tools that he "couldnt figure out" because he had to cut the paper with just scissors. He was very proud of himself because he chose patterned paper that matched my shirt. Haha! I love this page and will cherish it always! (Oh! And I have to mention that he gave me the Create-a-Critter cartridge for my gift) Yay!!!

3D Robotz Cuts

Hey everyone! I thought I would share with you the cuts I played with today. My DH got me Robotz the other day and I was too excited to play with it!
I work at a child care facility and I always get to share my excitement of new cartridges with the kiddos, and today was no exception! As soon as they saw the Robotz cart they all wanted to cut some 3D robots. I only have my baby bug at work with me so I was hesitant to cut them out, but the size was actually better than I thought.
I was definitely unprepared and didn't have a scoring tool or the right adhesive to do good 3D images, but we made do. OH, and I should mention that I do let the kiddos help me cut and assemble these guys so they arent the best cuts and adhering jobs in the world. But its all about learning processes for the kiddos so I am super proud of them!

All the images were cut at 5 1/2 inches. Enjoy!

Holiday Mini Book

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share with you a mini-book I made for my friends baby girl who was having her first birthday party! My inspiration came from Cynthia at the Cricut MB. She has a YouTube video she has made for the mini-book she made. I want to make sure and give Cynthia all the credit on the idea for this project! She did an awesome job on hers, go check it out!

This is my take on the holiday book and I hope my friend likes it. Babies just grow so much in their first year and I wanted her to have a scrapbook show casing her little one! The recipe (as best as I can remember) is below each picture.

The front and back cover pages are 7x8.
The inside pages are 6x8. Each page is rounded with a corner chomper at the 1/2 inch side.

For any pages that use cuts from Design Studio, you can find the .cut files here.

The font on this page is cute with Simply Sweet
"my ST year" @ 1 1/2 inches
"1" @ 5 inches

"Tag" is Don Juan @ 2 3/4 using the "Under Pressure" & "Under Pressure Shadow" features
"Baby Carriage" is from New Arrival @ 2 1/2

"fourth of JULY" is from Graphically Speaking @ 1 3/4
The hats are cut from patterned paper I have and pop dotted for some dimension

"BOO" is welded in DS with Don Juan (my FAVORITE font!!)
"Pumpkin" is from Doodlecharms @ 1 3/4 with googley eyes
"Spider" is from Doodlecharms @ 1 3/4 with black flocking and googley eyes as well

Opposites Attract for "Thankful" @ 1 1/2
Doodlecharms "Basket"@ 2 1/2

Doodlecharms for "Santa" @ 2
Doodlecharms fpr"Reindeer" @ 1 3/4

Snow Friends for "Snowlady" @ 3 3/4
Don Juan under pressure & under pressure shadow for "SNOW" @1 1/2
Don Juan for "Much Fun" @ 1"

Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page - Snowflake - punched on a 5x5 page so the mat would be 4x4

**This page is my personal favorite!!** I can totally see this as a waaay cute scrapbook page in my future!
"Valentines Day" from Simply Sweet @ 1"
"Stamp" from Create-a-Critter @ 2 1/2, but the words "love" inside the stamp were actually cut at 2 3/4 - I just wanted it to look larger
The envelopes and "LoveNotes" were all done in DS.

I'm so sorry but I've lost my measurements for the next few pages.
The basket, bunny and eggs were all cut from Doodlecharms
The "happy easter" are thickers

The only cricut on the summer page is the "sun" and he is from Doodlecharms as well.

The cupcake is made in DS.

No cricut use on this paper, just a simple birthday wish with a ribbon detailing.

Well that's it! Thanks for looking!

Happy crafting!
