Berry Sweet Wedding Card

I have a wedding to go to soon and I have been dying to get to make this card!!! I found it at Custom Crops projects website. It was really fun to make this and the directions are pretty simple.

I got the .cut file for this card at Custom Crops, but I added a cut for the flower on the brides strawberry. You can get my version of the .cut file on my blog if you'd like. I do suggest using Custom Crops for the instructions because I was a little confused at times as I was cutting it out and the directions are really helpful.

The "tuxedo" was embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Doss embossing folder.

And "brides dress" was embossed with Cuttlebug's D'vine Swirl embossing folder.

The berry stems are ran through a paper crimper at an angle.

Sushi Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone!! I thought I would take a few moments to share with you something I came up with for a scrapbooking layout. My hubby and I have a small weakness for sushi (when we can afford it!) and I wanted to do a layout explaining it. Enjoy!

My inspiration came from a page done here and wanted to incorporate my own version of a bamboo mat. The bamboo mat I used was actually a place mat that I got from my local Dollar Tree and cut it down to size.

The chopsticks were a cut from Design Studio using George and Basic Shapes. I took the rounded triangle and stretched it and made it skinny. There is a .cut file for you on the top left hand side of my blog.

The fortune cookie is kinda sad I know, but it was the best I could do. Through researching how to make a fortune cookie, I learned how to make super cute 3D ones! Here is that link. I basically did the same steps as shown at the website, but I made my circle at only 3 1/2 inches. I pretty much just flattened out my fortune cookie until I was pleased with it.

Baby Bottle Card

I am always happy to make someone a card, especially for the arrival of a new baby! My husbands cousin had a baby Saturday afternoon so I worked last night on putting together a card for them! This was a my first attempt at doing a shape card and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. This shape card was particularly easy because I just welded two shadowed bottles together. I did not have to worry with flipping an image as I think I would have needed to do with other cuts. I am very happy with how it came out.

Everything for the bottle was cut from New Arrival, the words "baby" are from Simply Sweet, and the envelope is from Wild Card.

I added the lines on the neck of the bottle by using my cuttlebug and the Fiskars plate called "Lines"

This was my first attempt at adding glitter to a title. I put the words "baby" in my Xyron upside down and added glitter to the adhesive. The adhesive was a little "splotchy" in places so I had to add some Zig 2-way glue in places where the adhesive didnt take. I think next time I will try to find another adhesive that will be a little easier on me. Any suggestions are always welcome!

Here is a view of the card opened up. I added a liner on the inside of the card to add a personal message.

I tried to add an envelope that the card would fit into, and it is on my .cut file, but it is a little too big for a 12x12 mat. If you use the .cut file and have a 12x24 mat, the full cut of the envelope will work just fine. I do not think too much of the envelope was cut off because it still closed and held the card just fine.

Graduation Cards

Here is a project that I did with my mom this weekend. She asked me if I could make her a few graduation cards to give out to some seniors at our church. Of course I was happy to help! I used Wild Card, Simply Sweet and Locker Talk for the cuts. Check out the link on the top left of my blog to get the .cut files to use for this project.

I used pop dots (that I cut smaller) to use to raise the graduation cap. It gave it great dimension. I also used a little bit of stickles to add some bling to the caps, even though the picture doesnt do its justice.

I added this pic to show that a check fits perfectly in the card. I checked, and cash will fit just as well. I used the "cheater method" as I learned from My Pink Stamper on the ribbon, which is the part you see here. But when the card it closed you wont see that anyways.

My Scrap Room aka My Happy Place

I just wanted to share a few pics showing you my happy place! Enjoy!


I am so blessed to have a room all to myself! The other half of the room doubles as a guest bed and our elliptical. Even though I have to share my room, I'm still soooooo thankful to have it! (I only have my room because I have THE BEST husband in the world!!!!!)






Here is my board that keeps me organized. I have my calendar of birthdays & anniversaries posted so I will always know when to send out cards! I also have "Dates to Remember" so I will remember to create a special card or gift for an upcoming shower or party.




I am very happy with this display of my Cricut Cartridges. The plates that are holding the cartridges are a Scrap Caddy product. The plates are made to put in a box designed for Cricut cartridges and their books and overlays, so I bought the plates to store only cartridges in the box. The plates have two holes on the top so my wonderful husband suggested I hang them up instead of place them in the box. I am so happy about how it turned out. I have them alphabetized and it's easy to locate the cartridge I want, grab it, ang go! {And I'm still working on my cartridge collection.....} =)



Here is the wonderful Cricut/Jukebox space!! The cuttlebug is tucked in the back too!










Here is how I currently have my books/overlays organized. My overlays are tucked in page one of their booklet. It is pretty simple, but I'm always looking for better organization tips! So please share!









Here is just a simple view of my organization below the Cricut/Jukebox space. The bottom drawer holds my stickles and my scraps folders. Everytime I finish a project and have scraps I can save, I file them in these folders that are organized by color. Again... any storage tips for scraps are welcome!!!






There is my tools/adhesive station. I also have my magazines filed away here so I can have some inpsiration close by if I get stuck! Everytime I read through a magazine, I place a "tag" on the page that I love and want to "Scraplift" somehow!








Here is more organization that is below my tools/adhesive station. The top three drawers hold my current photos that I need to scrapbook (which is a LOT right now!!!), and my small collection of stamping items. The bottom two drawers hold my current scrapbook I am working on and all my chipboard.

Scrapbook Convention

Scrapbooking Injury

I know this is my very first blog and I am going to make fun of myself... but I had to share!
I was cutting some pretty thick DCWV glitter paper with my paper trimmer, and when I was done with my cut I was admiring how much glitter was on my cutter! So I decided I was going to wipe off the excess glitter to "clean" my cutter, and then I ran my finger across the blade on my cutter! FAIL!!! Just a word of advise to those who may be as forgetful as I was.... your blade WILL cut your skin just as well as it does paper!!! :)
